Bus Driver

Bloomington Transit is seeking dedicated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Bus Drivers. As a vital part of our community transportation network, Bus Drivers provide reliable and courteous service to passengers throughout Bloomington. • Safely operate transit buses along designated routes and schedules
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers, including assisting with boarding and answering questions
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
• Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly
• Work varying days and hours, including weekends, as required by the schedule

• Must be at least 21 years of age (as required by state law)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (paid training provided)
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening, BMV license check, and criminal background check
• Good driving record
• Fluency in English
• Strong commitment to safety and customer service
• No previous bus driving experience required

Starting training wage: $20.59 per hour
, with progressive increases up to $30.28 per hour
