Location: Bloomington
Compensation: $70,000–$85,000
Our client is a well-established, privately held organization with a long history of operational excellence and steady growth across the Midwest. They are seeking an Accountant/Senior Accountant to join their collaborative accounting team.
This role is ideal for an experienced staff accountant who enjoys owning the month-end close process, working directly in the general ledger, and improving accounting processes. You’ll have visibility across the business and the opportunity to contribute in a stable, team-oriented environment that values work/life balance and long-term career development.
What You’ll DoPrepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
Perform account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal reporting
Manage and support cash activity, including banking transactions and reconciliations
Apply GAAP to routine and moderately complex transactions (accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, etc.)
Help maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Partner cross-functionally with operations and business leaders
Support internal and external audits
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–6+ years of progressive accounting experience
Hands-on general ledger and month-end close experience
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
Working knowledge of GAAP
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Experience with ERP/accounting systems
CPA (or pursuing) a plus
