Our client is a stable, well-established organization with a long history of success across the Midwest. They are seeking a Senior Accountant who enjoys hands-on general ledger accounting and wants to own key areas of the GL and play a direct role in the month-end close and financial reporting process
.

This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of assigned accounts, work closely with a collaborative accounting team, and contribute to a consistent, well-run close process. • Own assigned general ledger accounts
  , including all related journal entries and reconciliations
• Take responsibility for designated areas of the month-end, quarterly, and year-end close
  , ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and post journal entries within the general ledger
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies independently
• Ensure assigned accounts are accurate, complete, and fully reconciled each period
• Assist in preparing financial statements and internal management reports
• Support cash management activities, including banking transactions and reconciliations
• Apply GAAP across accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and lease-related areas
• Support internal and external audit processes
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and internal controls

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Hands-on experience owning general ledger accounts and supporting month-end close
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Experience working within ERP or accounting systems
• CPA (or pursuing certification) is a plus
