2028 Busy Season Accounting Internship | BGM
The Tone:
This is a internship role at BGM, located in Bloomington, MN. BGM is a growing firm that provides a wide range of advisory, audit, accounting, and tax services to entrepreneurs, business owners, organizations, and individuals. This internship is crucial for students to gain hands‑on experience in public accounting during the busiest time of year, working on real client engagements and building foundational skills for a future career in the field.

In‑person Bloomington, MN - Mission:
To contribute to real client engagements by assisting with tax and assurance services, developing practical skills, and learning the realities of public accounting during a busy season.
- Assist with assurance engagements:
Provide support for audits, reviews, compilations, and other related engagements. - Prepare tax returns:
Work alongside the tax team to prepare individual and business tax returns. - Support client engagements:
Gather, organize, and analyze client information, communicating progress, questions, and findings to your team. - Build professional knowledge:
Gain exposure to various industries and develop technical accounting and tax knowledge through hands‑on experience and training. - Develop essential skills:
Hone communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills by working directly with professionals at different levels of the firm.
- Background:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting; generally in their junior or senior year or equivalent academic standing; working toward meeting the 150‑credit requirement for CPA licensure; maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. - Experience:
Prior experience working with customers, clients, or others in a service‑oriented environment; ability to work approximately 55 hours per week during peak periods of the internship; able to work in the Bloomington, MN office throughout the internship; permanently authorized to work in the United States. - Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills; organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities; enjoys working collaboratively while also being able to work independently; brings a positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to ask questions and learn.
