CPP is preparing to open a new manufacturing site in Mendota Heights, Minnesota
, and we are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team and play a key role in establishing and supporting the financial operations of this new facility.

This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment, partnering with operations, and using financial information to drive business performance. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Controller and site leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, GAAP compliance, and meaningful financial analysis.

What You'll Do
  • Manage general accounting functions and prepare financial reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, weekly metrics, and other financial results using the Oracle ERP system and other resources.
  • Ensure proper setup and accounting of all fixed assets and coordinate with Corporate Finance to provide reports for audits, depreciation schedules, financial reporting, and corporate analysis.
  • Coordinate, review, assemble, and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in partnership with the Controller.
  • Prepare and interpret financial analysis of profit and loss and balance sheet accounts and present findings to the Controller.
  • Serve as a key financial partner to the Controller and site leadership by providing real-time visibility into department and manufacturing performance to help drive productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance within the General Ledger through account reconciliations, accuracy reviews, and timely identification and communication of issues.
  • Analyze financial statements and identify discrepancies, trends, and other issues requiring the Controller's attention.
  • Partner with Purchasing and other functional teams to manage capital projects, including ROI analysis, spending reviews, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform monthly analysis of account accruals and prepaid expenses.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to finance and accounting processes.
  • Partner with IT to develop and implement applications, systems, and tools that support the Finance and Accounting organization.
  • Assist with year-end and quarterly physical inventory processes.
  • Assist with year-end close activities and the Cost Roll process.
  • Produce and distribute key financial indicator reports to executive management.
  • Act as a liaison with sales and use tax and state income tax auditors, providing accurate information and supporting analysis.
  • Provide accurate and timely information and assistance to independent auditors to support the efficient completion of the annual audit.
  • Provide backup support across Finance, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and cost accounting functions.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a publicly traded manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle) and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Experience with fixed assets, inventory, accruals, prepaids, capital projects, and cost accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner effectively with Finance, Operations, Purchasing, IT, Sales, and Corporate teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and lead projects through implementation.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits is preferred.
  • CPA or other professional accounting designation is a plus.
