Compensation
  • Salary range: $60,000–$100,000, with individual compensation based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors
Schedule
  • 4‑day work week, 10 hours a day (Monday–Thursday, 6:00 am–6:00 pm). Additional hours may be required during busier times
What You Will Be Doing

The Buyer role is responsible for the purchasing of new and existing parts based on demand in the company ERP system, including supplier selection, supplier evaluation, and recommendations for process and partner changes to the Supply Chain Manager.

  • Procure parts from domestic and international suppliers based on ERP‑driven demand, lead times, product life cycle, and historical data
  • Request and update supplier pricing, lead time, terms, and schedules to ensure optimal cost and availability
  • Expedite or de‑expedite orders to align with demand fluctuations
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and schedule changes with suppliers
  • Communicate changes with suppliers to assure part delivery and availability
  • Plan purchases to optimize inventory levels while considering warehouse space, shelf‑life, and total landed costs
  • Support new product development with procurement activities, including source selection and interdepartmental meetings
  • Evaluate and onboard alternate suppliers for existing products
  • Conduct supplier visits, document transactions, and resolve issues
  • Track incoming orders using freight forwarder software
  • Maintain supplier scorecards and provide quarterly reports to suppliers and management
  • Record and maintain order documentation for compliance and supplier evaluation
  • Other duties as assigned, including training others on known processes
What You Will Bring

Required:

  • Two years of experience in domestic and international purchasing in an ERP/MRP environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including with non‑native English speakers
  • Experience working in ERP systems for procurement
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations (discounts, interest, proportions, percentages)
  • Team‑oriented mindset with cross‑departmental collaboration skills and excellent problem‑solving abilities
  • Highly self‑motivated with the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
  • Detail‑oriented and strong organizational skills for proper record retention

Preferred:

  • Five years of experience in domestic and international purchasing in an ERP/MRP environment
  • ACSM or APICS Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, logistics, or a similar field
  • Desire to learn and grow within the profession
Physical Requirements
  • Required to sit, stand, walk, handle or feel objects, tools and controls
  • Vision required to inspect products and documents in detail
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; some workstations require lifting and/or moving up to 60 pounds
Work Environment

The position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment is required, proximity to moving equipment, and exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
