Position Summary

The Program Manager, Central Operations will help bring structure, visibility, and governance to the organization's portfolio of run-the-business activities and strategic initiatives. This role will partner across Operations, Technology, Business Intelligence, Marketing, Clinical, Finance, and executive leadership to inventory work, assess value, establish prioritization frameworks, understand organizational capacity, and support initiatives from ideation through launch.

The Program Manager will help design and operate a formal stage-gate process, establish governance and operating cadence, and create the processes needed to ensure initiatives are properly evaluated, prioritized, resourced, launched, and measured.

Key Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Work Inventory
  • Inventory and maintain visibility into organizational initiatives and activities.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of:
    • What the organization is working on.
    • Why each initiative exists.
    • What value each initiative creates.
  • Track both run-the-business work and strategic initiatives.
  • Help establish a portfolio management process that provides visibility into work originating from:
    • Operations
    • Technology
    • Business Intelligence
    • Marketing
    • Clinical
    • Finance
    • Executive leadership
    • Other organizational functions
Value Assessment & Prioritization
  • Help identify and document the value associated with initiatives, including:
    • Financial value
    • Hard savings
    • Hard benefits
    • Soft savings
    • Soft benefits
    • Compliance requirements
    • Other business value
  • Assess the magnitude of value associated with initiatives.
  • Determine whether initiative value should be pressure-tested.
  • Identify alignment to company initiatives and stated strategic priorities.
  • Support leadership decision-making regarding prioritization of competing work.
  • Help establish greater organizational discipline around prioritization.
Capacity Planning
  • Develop processes to assess organizational capacity across DSO resources.
  • Help leadership understand:
    • Current work commitments.
    • Available capacity.
    • Capacity consumed by run-the-business activities.
    • Remaining capacity for transformational initiatives.
  • Support decisions regarding:
    • Resource constraints.
    • Additional staffing needs.
    • Initiative sequencing.
    • Deprioritization of lower-priority work.
Stage-Gate Process & Governance
  • Design, strengthen, and manage a formal stage-gate process for initiatives.
  • Establish processes spanning:
    • Ideation
    • Business case evaluation
    • Launch readiness
    • Execution
    • Benefit realization
  • Create governance standards and decision frameworks.
  • Establish clear go/no-go checkpoints.
  • Develop launch-readiness criteria.
  • Help ensure initiatives create sufficient value before moving forward.
  • Create and maintain an ongoing operating cadence and governance rhythm.
  • Support governance reviews with Executive Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team.
Initiative Readiness & Launch Support
  • Support initiatives from idea through launch.
  • Ensure participating functions complete required activities prior to launch.
