Job Summary
The Construction Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the construction of homes in the assigned community(s) to ensure cost, schedule, and quality standards are met. The role includes all construction activities for assigned homes, assists in scheduling, supervises trade partner work, maintains community job sites for safety and appearance, and manages the customer experience throughout the building process.
Responsibilities- Oversee scheduling and supervision of daily trade partner activities and evaluate the quality and efficiency of their work.
- Review and request modifications to construction drawings when plan errors or conflicts arise.
- Evaluate project schedules and determine necessary modifications to meet timely completion.
- Ensure each home is completed on schedule and all contract obligations and safety protocols are satisfied.
- Stop any non‑satisfactory or non‑compliant work.
- Manage the customer experience, providing regular communication, taking action, and negotiating solutions to address concerns.
- Interact with Community Sales personnel to manage community performance and customer activities.
- Perform daily inspections to ensure job sites meet state, federal, and company safety standards and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan requirements.
- Take immediate action to adjust or shut down work if necessary to maintain a safe environment.
- Negotiate, create, and authorize field purchase orders for materials and labor resources as needed.
- Inspect trade partner workmanship and product quality for timeliness and scope compliance.
- Authorize payments to trade partners when standards are met.
- Collaborate with product development, process improvement, resource planning, and purchasing teams to improve plan quality, schedule adherence, trade performance, and budgetary challenges.
- Evaluate trade partner work for compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and company workmanship standards.
- Participate in trade partner recruiting and vetting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Delegate work according to employee abilities and skills.
- Provide input to employee performance evaluations.
- Assist in identifying internal and external training opportunities.
- Provide continuous coaching regarding functional and leadership standards.

Position involves sitting, standing, driving, and movement. Must be able to exert a minimal force of up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds to carry, lift, push, pull, and otherwise move objects. Must climb ladders, scaffolding, and other means to reach and observe all areas of the building. Must work in various weather conditions – heat, rain, cold, etc.
RequiredEducation & Experience
- Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent - Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of construction experience or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license (driving is an essential function)
- Ability to manage construction processes in a high‑production environment
- Ability to direct and manage trade performance
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient at reading blueprints
- General knowledge of municipal permitting and regulations
- General knowledge of building codes
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction‑related scheduling software
- Basic computer literacy
- Dedicated commitment to customer satisfaction
- Ability to control cost overruns and manage a budget
Pay Range: $70,000 – $78,000 annually. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive bonuses.
