Work Hours:

Full-Time | Rotation Schedule – 3 Weeks Onsite (M–F, occasional Saturdays as needed) / 1 Week Home

The Planet Group is currently seeking a Traveling Energy Storage – Senior Superintendent for a growing construction organization supporting large-scale energy storage and industrial power projects nationwide. Qualified candidates must have extensive experience leading self-perform construction operations, managing large field crews, driving schedules, and overseeing complex industrial, energy, data center, or commercial construction projects in active field environments. Job Description

The Senior Superintendent will be responsible for leading all field construction activities and supervising on-site work teams for large-scale energy storage construction projects throughout the United States. This role requires a strong field leader capable of managing self-perform operations, coordinating multiple disciplines, and driving project execution in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in industrial construction, power, renewable energy, data center, or large commercial self-perform projects with proven ability to manage schedules, field operations, subcontractors, and workforce planning while maintaining safety, quality, and production goals.

Compensation & Additional Pay
  • Per Diem: $1,660 every two weeks
  • Travel Pay: $400 every two weeks (paid whether employee travels home or not)
  • Project Completion Bonus:
    Approximately 15% of project earnings (pending confirmation)
  • Annual Bonus:
    Paid every March
  • Incentive Pay Program:
  • Starts at 5% bonus on every paycheck
  • Increases annually up to 15%

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all daily construction site activities and field operations
  • Coordinate field execution for multiple crews, subcontractors, and disciplines
  • Interface with project management, engineering, procurement, and safety teams to support project schedules
  • Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules and three-week look-ahead schedules
  • Review construction documents for constructability and completeness
  • Coordinate plans and specifications with engineers and design teams
  • Develop site logistics plans, crew planning, and manpower strategies
  • Oversee self-perform craft labor, equipment utilization, and production execution
  • Conduct pre-construction planning meetings and daily coordination meetings
  • Mentor and develop foremen, assistant superintendents, and field personnel
  • Maintain strong field presence and leadership on active construction sites
  • Ensure implementation and enforcement of site safety programs and zero-injury initiatives
  • Coordinate inspections, material deliveries, equipment utilization, and field sequencing
  • Manage open shop and union labor environments as required
  • Maintain positive relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and field teams
  • Support project closeout activities and turnover processes
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of construction experience
  • Minimum 10 years in a Superintendent or field leadership role
  • Strong self-perform construction experience required
  • Experience leading large industrial, power, energy storage, renewable energy, data center, or commercial construction projects
  • Proven experience managing schedules, manpower planning, and field execution
  • Experience overseeing large crews, subcontractors, and multi-discipline construction activities
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, and production management
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and leadership skills in fast-paced field environments
  • Experience conducting and managing three-week look-ahead schedules
  • Strong safety leadership background and commitment to zero-injury culture
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to travel up to 100%
