- Review and monitor all phases of projects, including budgeting, schedules, and conformance to company specifications
- Plan, coordinate, and perform construction, renovation, or maintenance projects at an assigned location
- Assess project-specific documents, including drawings, project manuals, addendums, and pre-bid modifications
- Oversee and participate in selection of tradespeople, including developing bid requests, contracts, and estimates
- Coordinate deconstruction during renovations to save money
- Understand and follow city, state, and federal ordinances, rules, laws, and regulations, including OSHA
- Advise contractors to be properly trained, understand correct procedures, and use appropriate PPE
- Ensure necessary permits are obtained by subcontractors
- Work under the direction of the appropriate U-Haul Holdings Business Consultant (ADVP)
- Be able to operate forklift and other equipment as necessary when competent
- Business Degree in Project Management, Business, or other related field or the equivalent of experience
- U-Haul experience is a must
- 3-5 years of construction or repair shop experience
- OSHA certification is a plus
- Reasonable and predictable attendance is essential
- Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals with special safety precautions
- Ability to remain stationary, traverse spaces, reposition to reach and use tools, and move a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted
Demonstrates expertise in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and compliance with regulations. Proficient in overseeing construction and renovation projects while ensuring safety standards and effective contractor management.
