Summary

Mora High School is seeking a High School Art Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity and foster a love for the arts among students while developing their artistic skills and critical thinking. This full-time position requires a commitment to providing a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student expression and exploration in various art forms.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging art curricula that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Teach a variety of art techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
  • Create lesson plans that incorporate art history, theory, and contemporary practices.
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages student creativity, collaboration, and self-expression.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through projects, presentations, and portfolios, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
  • Maintain an organized and well-equipped art space, ensuring safety and proper use of materials.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Stay current with trends in art education and participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Valid teaching license in Visual Arts.
  • Proven experience teaching art at the high school level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, and art history.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for art instruction.
  • Passion for fostering creativity and a deep appreciation for the arts.
