Assistant Manager

Job Summary
:
The Assistant Manager will assist in the oversight of gym operations to ensure an exceptional judgement free member experience and a financially successful club.

• Recruit, hire, train and develop a high performing staff including Member Service Representatives, Trainers and Custodians.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests while ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
• Assist with staff management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed.
• Schedule and supervise staff.
• Oversee front desk activities: answer phones, check members into the system, process new member sign‑ups, take prospective members on tours, and facilitate all member requests, issues and questions.
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
• Order supplies within the specified budget based on club requirements.
• Track statistics and reports weekly, monthly and annually.
• Provide backup support for any absent employee.

• Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness.
• Solid supervisory, diplomatic and listening skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
• Hard‑working, enthusiastic and energetic.
• Strong problem‑resolution skills.
• Current CPR certification required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Continual standing and walking during shift.
• Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional exposure to toxic chemicals during shift.
