12-Month Position. Starting Salary $110,000 (salary negotiable based on experience). Full Family Health Coverage & Benefits per Master Contract.
Position OverviewThe High School Principal/Activities Director serves as the instructional and operational leader of the High School while also overseeing the High School Activities. This position fosters a positive, student-centered school culture, supports staff professional growth, ensures academic excellence, and strengthens community relationships.
The ideal candidate is a visible, approachable leader who demonstrates strong communication skills, organization, flexibility, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, motivating, and enjoyable school environment. Position begins July 1, 2026.
Leadership & School Culture- Oversee day-to-day operations, of the High School, including conferences and building management.
- Foster a culture of motivation, discipline, and student achievement.
- Maintain a high visibility and approachability with students, staff, and families.
- Support teachers in parent communications and student discipline.
- Ensure consistent documentation and follow-through with discipline procedures.
- Promote professional growth and instructional improvement.
- Stay informed on current educational trends, research, and leadership best practices.
- Enhance positive school climate through
True Blue High School initiatives.
- Evaluate teachers through formal and informal observations.
- Meet with teachers regarding their Professional Growth Plan.
- Work with mentors to support new teachers.
- Coordinate grade-level meetings, specialist meetings, and full high school staff meetings.
- Support curriculum review, selection, and purchasing.
- Hire and evaluate staff; manage non-renewals as necessary.
- Update the High School Handbook and procedures.
- Coordinate compliance and reporting requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
- High School Principal will coordinate with the Dean of Students.
- Minnesota Principal License Required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and community members.
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and instructional best practices.
- Hire, supervise and evaluate coaches and advisors.
- Manage schedules, transportation for activities, officials and event operation.
- Ensure compliance with Minnesota State High School League policies and regulations.
- Coordinate and oversee all MSHSL activities and athletics.
- Promote sportsmanship, character development and school spirit.
