Early Childhood Preschool Teacher

Supervisor: Early Childhood Family Education Coordinator

Working hours: 7:30-3:30

• Implement the curriculum for children in accordance with overall objectives, goals, and philosophy.
• Implement the program to meet the individual needs of each participant using child growth and development criteria.
• Maintain a safe, positive play and learning environment that meets the physical, social, and emotional needs of young children.
• Act as a model for parents in dealing effectively with young children.
• Provide conferences to families twice a year.
• Communicate with families through newsletters, phone calls, text messages and emails.
• Informally assess children’s development, making referrals as needed.
• Attendance and input at staff meetings and in-service training.
• Assist in outreach and public relations activities as needed.
• Keep accurate records including lesson plans, attendance, and referrals.
• Attend IEP Meetings as needed.
• Assist in ongoing program evaluations.
• Direct staff in the classroom as needed.
• Participate in PLC with team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• ECFE teachers must hold a teaching license in Early Childhood Education.
• Preschool teachers must hold a four year degree in early childhood.
• Experience in ECFE or preschool.
• Good communication, cooperative, and organizational skills.
• Sensitive to and able to relate well with both children and adults.
• Creativity and ability to develop, plan, and facilitate the curriculum.
