Required Experience- Bachelor's degree in education, recreation, human services or related field.
- Three years experience planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating youth programs.
- Supervision of staff; hiring, training, disciplining, and daily supervision.
- Experience with children who have special needs; students with EBD (preferred).
- Experience with families from diverse cultures (preferred).
- Experience with school age child care (preferred).
- Experience with Early Childhood and/or preschool.
During the school year, the Youth and Family Coordinator for the Preschool SAFARI wrap‑around program at Early Learning at Washburn plays a vital role in bridging the gap between home and our half‑day four‑year‑old classrooms. As the program leader, this professional is responsible for designing high‑quality programming with the help of Activity Leaders, managing dedicated staff, and overseeing communications to ensure each child is truly ready to be a successful learner.
In the summer, their leadership extends to direct oversight and support for both Early Camp SAFARI and Camp SAFARI programs. By cultivating collaborative partnerships among teachers, parents, and community resources year‑round, they manage a seamless, supportive environment where our oldest preschoolers can confidently thrive.
- Develop, coordinate, and manage out‑of‑school‑time programs at the elementary level including but not limited to Kids' SAFARI, Preschool SAFARI, Youth Development, and Youth Enrichment.
- Supervise all program staff.
- Participate in district's Youth and Family team.
