The Coordinator of PRAVA is responsible for aligning programming with the needs of the school community identified in the baseline analysis and provides overall leadership and support to virtual programs. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and facilitating strategic support structures to increase student achievement of Minnesota standard aligned virtual coursework for grades 6-12. The Coordinator of PRAVA will build systems, procedures, and strategies to ensure that all students receive instruction from a licensed teacher.

The Coordinator of PRAVA will oversee day-to-day operations of virtual learning programs and schedule courses.

TOSA position under the ED MN Park Rapids CBA, contracted days 195.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the strategic vision and goals for the Park Rapids Area Virtual Academy.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the virtual academy, ensuring compliance with district policies and state regulations.
  • Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver engaging online curriculum and instructional resources.
  • Monitor student progress and performance, utilizing data to inform instructional practices and interventions.
  • Provide support and training for teachers, staff, and families on best practices in virtual education and technology integration.
  • Facilitate communication between students, parents, and educators to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Organize and lead professional development opportunities for staff focused on virtual teaching methodologies.
  • Manage the virtual academy budget, resources, and technology needs, ensuring efficient use of funds and materials.
  • Promote the virtual academy within the community to increase enrollment and engagement.
  • Stay current with trends in online education and technology, implementing innovative practices to enhance student learning experiences.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field;
    Master’s degree preferred. Preferred current K-12 Minnesota Administrative License through BOSA.
  • Preferred minimum of three years of experience in education, with a focus on virtual or online learning environments.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and online teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, educators, and community members.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and learning management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
  • Valid teaching license in the state of Minnesota preferred.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and a willingness to embrace new challenges in the virtual education landscape.
