Twin Cities, MN – this site‑based role supports the Twin Cities campuses and may be based out of the Bloomington, Hennepin/Anoka, or Eagle Andale campuses. The Associate Dean of Nursing for Faculty Development provides strategic leadership to advance nursing faculty excellence and teaching effectiveness across academic nursing programs.
Partnering with nursing leadership and Academic Nursing Program Directors, this role leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of comprehensive faculty onboarding and development initiatives. The Associate Dean assesses training needs, implements evidence‑based development programs that strengthen instructional quality, clinical teaching, and student engagement, and ensures faculty are equipped to create high‑performing learning environments.
Responsibilities- Oversee onboarding and nursing orientation of new faculty across academic nursing programs.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive faculty development program aligned with School of Nursing and University goals.
- Establish a culture of ongoing professional growth, teaching excellence, and instructional innovation.
- Conduct regular needs assessments using faculty performance data, student outcomes, and stakeholder input.
- Identify skill gaps and prioritize targeted development initiatives.
- Develop and deliver evidence‑based training in teaching methodologies, clinical instruction, assessment practices, and student engagement.
- Ensure faculty adoption and effective application of training content in classroom and clinical settings.
- Promote best practices in pedagogy, simulation, clinical judgment development, and active learning strategies.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to faculty to improve instructional quality.
- Align faculty development initiatives with program goals to support strong student outcomes, including completion rates and NCLEX success.
- Monitor impact of faculty development on teaching performance and student achievement.
- Partner with Academic Nursing Program Directors, Central Nursing Leadership team, campus leaders, and faculty to ensure consistent standards and implementation of development initiatives.
- Engage subject matter experts and external resources when appropriate.
- Use data and feedback to evaluate effectiveness of faculty development programs and refine strategies.
- Lead high‑impact improvement projects that enhance instructional quality and faculty performance.
- Align faculty development practices with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
The Associate Dean, Nursing Faculty Development will report to the Area Dean of Nursing.
Requirements- Master’s Degree in Nursing required;
Doctorate in Nursing or Education preferred. - Academic Nurse Educator (CNE) certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a nurse educator (5 years preferred).
- Working knowledge of NCLEX testing guidelines, expectations, and detailed test plan required.
- Experience working with students and faculty on issues related to student completion rates and NCLEX pass rates preferred.
- Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with nursing administrators and faculty.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills required.
- Willingness to engage in continuing education to maintain a high level of skill.

The estimated salary range for this role is $85,300.00 to $, based on job level, location, skill set, experience, and training.
