Salary Range: Per the Educator Agreement Schedule

Work Week: 0.5 FTE, Monday-Friday

Student Level: Elementary, K-5

We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Spanish Specialist Teacher (0.5 FTE) to inspire a love of language and culture in all students. This position offers the potential to add additional FTE depending on the candidate’s qualifications. As a specialist (similar to Art, Music, and Physical Education), this teacher will provide Spanish instruction to all students, creating a dynamic and interactive environment that builds foundational language skills and global awareness.

The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a passion for language learning while supporting the development of internationally minded learners.

• Deliver Spanish language instruction to students across grade levels as part of the specialist rotation.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and interactive classroom environment where students feel confident taking risks in language learning.
• Build students' foundational skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish.
• Align instruction with district standards while incorporating IB principles and inquiry-based learning.
• Use games, movement, music, and conversation to make language learning engaging and meaningful.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to a collaborative school culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, World Language Education, or a related field.
• Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Spanish/World Language (or ability to obtain one).
• Strong proficiency in Spanish.
• Understanding of or willingness to learn International Baccalaureate (IB) practices.
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.

• Experience teaching elementary-aged students.
• Familiarity with IB, inquiry-based learning, or concept-driven instruction.
• Experience using interactive and communicative language teaching strategies (TPR, games, songs, etc.).
