Special Education Paraprofessional- Substitute

Summary: The Paraprofessional - Substitute will provide support to teachers and students in the absence of the regular paraprofessional. This is a substitute position located at District Wide.

• Assist with instructional activities under the guidance of the teacher
• Provide individual and small group instruction as directed by the teacher
• Assist with classroom management and behavior support
• Assist with the supervision of students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times
• Assist with the preparation and organization of instructional materials and classroom resources
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment
• Communicate with the regular paraprofessional and teacher regarding student progress and behavior

• AA degree, Parapro certificate. High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members
• Flexibility and willingness to work in different classrooms and with different age groups
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
