About the Position

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities in a K–12 school setting. The ideal candidate will create engaging learning experiences, collaborate with educational professionals, and support students in achieving their academic, behavioral, and developmental goals.

Job Duties
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs and goals
  • Provide specialized instruction and accommodations to support student success
  • Adapt curriculum, lessons, and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of academic and behavioral growth
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and positive behavioral supports
  • Create a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Support students in developing academic, social, and independent living skills
  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license with appropriate Special Education licensure/endorsement through the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB)
  • Current authorization to work in a Minnesota school setting
  • Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance requirements
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with varying academic, behavioral, and developmental needs
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred
