BIM Manager

Overview

Job Summary: The BIM Manager is a hybrid position, reporting to the Director of Design. The role requires daily BIM modeling and coordination tasks, while helping develop and maintain Revit standards, families, project templates, workflows, and procedures within Paladin Technologies. In addition to 3D BIM work, the BIM Manager will assist with traditional 2D CAD work as needed. The BIM Manager supports corporate objectives by delivering high-quality service to internal Paladin Technologies staff or external customers.

• Work in 2D and 3D drafting programs (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM
  360, Navisworks) to develop detailed models and drawings for Structured Cabling Systems, Outside Plant Infrastructure, Audio Visual Systems, Security Systems, DAS, and other low‑voltage disciplines.
• Assist the Director of Design to develop and maintain BIM/AutoCAD standards, processes, libraries, families, and templates.
• Lead and supervise modeling and documenting on projects; schedule and assign work to meet deliverables and deadlines.
• Clean and purge background drawings/models for PTI Models; create models incorporating all appropriate trades.
• Collaborate with project Coordinators and detailers; supervise and back-check others’ work for accuracy.
• Recommend enhancements to the Paladin BIM/AutoCAD program (software, training, hardware) to the Director of Design and VDC Manager.
• Provide 3D renderings of Conference Rooms, Data Centers, and IDF/MDF rooms for customer proposals, using assets from the design team.
• Develop and maintain personal knowledge of BIM and associated technologies Paladin Technologies installs.
• Attend BIM coordination meetings, work with architectural firms, developers, MEP consultants, and other modelers; facilitate clash resolutions and maintain clear communication.
• Understand each project’s Design Intent, BIM Execution Plan, and Project Execution Plan to ensure success.
• Perform electronic takeoffs as required using Autodesk applications or Bluebeam Revu.
• Maintain exceptional communication, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, and willingness to mentor others within the design group.
• Develop and maintain skills in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM
  360, ACC, Navisworks, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu.
• Perform other design, drafting, modeling, or office tasks as directed; assist the design group by contributing beyond direct modeling when requested.
• Ensure timely and complete submittals of drawing sets per the BIM Execution Plan and Design Schedule; monitor due dates and seek support to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate multitasking by managing multiple projects with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail while meeting deadlines.

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5–7 years of drafting and design experience in IT, instrumentation and controls, electronics, or security industries.
• Ability to create aesthetically pleasing, legible, and accessible drawings.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, IP networks, low-voltage electronics, power and communications, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of the physical security and/or technology industries and related products, technologies, trends, and applications.
