About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Project Controls Specialist to lead project controls processes and support project execution within budget and schedule. This role partners closely with Project Management and Accounting teams to ensure accurate forecasting, scheduling, and cost control across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in scheduling, cost forecasting, earned value management, and Primavera P6 within infrastructure or construction environments.

Key Responsibilities Project Scheduling & Planning
  • Create and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Develop and manage multiple levels of project schedules
  • Apply and validate logic ties within schedules
  • Perform critical path method (CPM) analysis and what-if scenarios
  • Monitor resource loading and schedule performance
  • Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM)
Cost Control & Forecasting
  • Develop and maintain cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Review project costs, contingency budgets, and change orders
  • Approve Purchase Orders and Subcontracts for proper coding
  • Interface with Accounting to support cost tracking and audits
  • Input and document cost changes and forecast updates
Earned Value & Performance Management
  • Develop and maintain an Earned Value Management (EVM) system
  • Input and validate progress measurements
  • Maintain progress curves and reporting dashboards
  • Analyze schedule and cost performance trends
Reporting & Analysis
  • Analyze data and generate reports using Enterprise Planning & Controls software
  • Develop and present cash flow and executive-level reporting
  • Conduct schedule forensic analysis as needed
  • Perform quality checks on project controls deliverables
  • Conduct field audits to validate reporting accuracy
Project Support & Compliance
  • Follow project execution plans and corporate standards
  • Serve as point of contact for technical project control questions
  • Review upstream and downstream contract changes
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
Required Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
    (Relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement)
  • 3+ years of direct project controls experience
Technical Skills
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, forecasting, cost control, and CPM methodologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to develop and analyze scheduling and cost reports
Certifications
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification (or ability to obtain)
