Position OverviewCPI is seeking an Advanced FPGA Engineer to support cutting‑edge defense technology programs. In this role, you will design and develop complex FPGA and ASIC systems used in secure, high‑performance applications that directly support national security and mission‑critical operations.
Key Responsibilities- Design, verify, and document ASIC and FPGA developments
- Define system architecture, simulation strategies, and detailed design approaches
- Develop module interfaces and manage device‑level design, simulation, and verification
- Oversee synthesis, place‑and‑route, timing closure, and power analysis
- Create and execute functional test and simulation plans
- Analyze results and troubleshoot design or performance issues
- Evaluate vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, and device libraries
- Contribute to ASIC/FPGA process improvements and engineering best practices
- Research and analyze design proposals to determine feasibility and technical requirements
- Select components and hardware based on performance and reliability criteria
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams to execute major programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related STEM field) plus 5+ years of experience
- OR Master’s degree plus 3+ years of experience
- Strong knowledge of ASIC/FPGA architecture, design principles, and verification methodologies
- Proficiency with FPGA design and simulation tools
- Experience with synthesis, timing analysis, and hardware validation
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
