Advanced Electrical Engineer
Location: Bloomington, MN
Pay Rate: $61.27/hr
Work Schedule: Onsite | 9/80 Schedule Option Available
The Advanced Electrical Engineer will support the design of complex, mission‑critical electrical hardware systems within a cross‑functional engineering team. This role spans the full hardware development lifecycle — from requirements analysis and schematic capture through PCB layout oversight, integration, test, and qualification. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customers to deliver high‑performance hardware solutions in a defense‑focused environment.
Responsibilities- Perform electrical hardware design across all program lifecycle phases
- Conduct requirements analysis and schematic capture
- Define PCB/PWB routing constraints and direct layout activities
- Support manufacturing, integration, test, and qualification efforts
- Develop high‑speed, high‑density circuit card designs incorporating embedded processors and/or FPGAs
- Design systems utilizing fiber optic interfaces where required
- Perform signal integrity and power integrity analysis
- Utilize advanced lab equipment including oscilloscopes and Ethernet network testers
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure technical, schedule, and performance objectives are met
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related STEM field) plus 5+ years of experience OR Master’s degree plus 3+ years of experience
- Experience designing electrical hardware systems
- Experience with high‑speed, high‑density circuit card design
- Working knowledge of Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite
- Experience with schematic entry, constraint management, and Hyper Lynx SI/PI analysis
- Understanding of full hardware development lifecycle
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Experience with embedded processors and FPGA‑based designs
- Experience incorporating advanced materials and packaging techniques
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability with minimal direction
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to drive technical alignment
- Experience working directly with customers and cross‑functional engineering teams
- Fully onsite position in Bloomington, MN
