Seeking an experienced Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to support the development of mission-critical airborne systems hardware, including mission computers, sensor processors, and stores management systems. This role supports the full hardware development lifecycle from requirements analysis through manufacturing, integration, and qualification testing.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop complex electrical hardware systems and circuit card assemblies
- Perform requirements analysis, schematic capture, and hardware architecture development
- Define PCB/PWB routing constraints and support layout activities
- Support manufacturing, integration, testing, and qualification of hardware systems
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and customers
- Perform signal integrity and power integrity analysis
- Support troubleshooting, validation, and system verification activities
- Contribute to high-speed, high-density hardware designs using advanced packaging techniques
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
- 8+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 6+ years)
- Experience with circuit card and electrical hardware design
- Strong understanding of the hardware development lifecycle
- Experience with high-speed interfaces, embedded processors, or FPGA-based systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite
- Experience with Hyper Lynx Signal Integrity / Power Integrity analysis
- Experience designing with fiber optic interfaces
- Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and Ethernet network testers
- Background in defense, aerospace, or airborne systems
- Experience with advanced PCB/PWB materials and packaging technologies
