Process Engineer
Atrio Search is partnering with an established innovator in decentralised water and wastewater treatment, supporting the municipal and industrial sectors across North America through advanced, modular process solutions, and other advanced treatment systems. They are seeking a Process Engineer to play a key role in the design, optimisation, and delivery of municipal treatment projects, with a focus on biological processes and scalable plant technologies.
The Role:You will lead and support process engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from early‑stage design and pre‑sales through to commissioning and optimisation. This role combines technical leadership with hands‑on delivery, including process design, performance modelling, technical validation, and occasional site support. You will act as a key link between commercial, engineering, and project delivery teams to ensure robust, efficient, and scalable treatment solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead process design activities, including calculations, mass balances, removal efficiencies, and operating limits
- Develop and review P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and system layouts
- Provide technical input during pre‑sales, including customer engagement and proposal development
- Partner with project management teams to ensure solutions align with scope, timelines, and performance requirements
- Support the development and optimisation of core product designs and manufacturing workflows
- Establish and maintain quality assurance standards for process design and fabricated systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years’ experience in wastewater treatment in either Municipal or Industrial sectors
- Strong track record in process design within engineered systems or equipment‑based environments
- Advanced Excel skills for modelling, analysis, and data interpretation
