Forensic Structural Engineer, P.E.

We are looking for a seasoned Structural Engineer with a passion for uncovering the root causes of structural failures and a talent for delivering expert assessments. The role focuses on forensic engineering, structural damage assessment, and failure analysis across commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.

• Investigate and assess complex structural failures, including loss of buildings and building envelope investigations.
• Conduct root‑cause analyses for structural failures, storm and roof damage, and structural collapses.
• Survey property, casualty, and liability losses at residential and commercial sites.
• Produce detailed reports, drawings, and expert testimonies for clients, insurers, and courts.
• Develop plans, costs, and timelines for professional services, documenting and maintaining billable hours on a time and expense basis.
• Provide guidance and leadership to junior team members and collaborate with sales, operations, architects, developers, and legal professionals to develop demand for services.
• Leverage EFI Global’s national forensic experts to support projects and share insights.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in your state of residence; multi‑state licensing and/or active NCEES record is preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in forensic structural engineering or related discipline.
• Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture.
