About our group:
The Photo CAD/Systems Engineering team supports Seagate's Wafer & Slider Operations to manufacture recording heads used in Seagate's disk drive products. The team focuses on the creation and development of photolithography masks to support the Wafer Product Engineering and R&D organizations as well as the Slider Advanced Air-Bearing Development teams.
About the role - you will:- Support Wafer Product & R&D teams by drawing, specifying, inspecting, and ordering photolithography masks. Photolithography masks support Suss Aligner (9" masks), Nikon (5X/4X reduction), & ASML toolsets.
- Take existing photomask geometries, layers, and apply CAD transformations (sizing, curvature, linear shifts, etc), in addition to taking the photomask requester's sketch designs to generate a CAD design.
- Work with the engineering teams directly to make sure any additional documentation for a photomask order is complete and meeting SOP standards.
- Work with the Slider Advanced Air-Bearing (AAB) teams to create, order, and inspect their photomasks for drive development.
- Maintain large CAD libraries with greater than 150 layers to produce high yielding read-write transducers.
- Need to be detail oriented since there are many facets to the CAD libraries to maintain and ensure they are in place for engineering team usage.
- Communicate with the photomask vendors qualifying new vendor toolsets, revising photomask grade specifications, and investigating non-uniformity sources as well as making sure photomask orders are delivered on-time and meeting the existing photomask specifications.

- Project(s) experience that includes multi-layer CAD usage and solutions.
- A demonstration of new complex, learning is doable.
- Experience in a wafer manufacturing environment (thin-film-head, semiconductor wafer manufacturing)
- Experience in Wafer photolithography operations
- AutoCAD, Draft Sight, Solidworks, Pyxis, L-Edit, or other CAD software experience
- SAP purchasing experience for ordering photomasks
- Ability to extract, manipulate and analyze data using SQL & Excel
- BS degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Bloomington, MN campus (Normandale) spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington. The estimated base salary range for this position is $66,000 - $77,000. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
