Internship Overview
As an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an interest in highway design, you will join our team this upcoming summer in Bloomington, Minnesota. You will apply academic knowledge while working alongside Professional Engineers and Technicians generating safe and efficient designs for complex transportation infrastructure systems for the Department of Transportation, local agencies, and design‑build contractors. You will assist with highway design, geometric layouts, alignments, profiles, cross sections, and production of final plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
WorkSchedule and Location
Available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime throughout the summer of 2026 from mid‑May through mid‑August. Primarily working from our office with possible flexible/hybrid arrangements.
Compensation$20 – $24 per hour; final rate dependent on anticipated graduation date.
Required Qualifications- Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with interest in transportation.
- Previous experience or formal training with Microstation.
- Strong interpersonal skills;
Ability to work in a team environment. - Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous coursework or project assignments related to transportation or highway design.
- Thorough understanding of drafting techniques, plan development, and related engineering practices.
- Previous experience developing construction plans and specifications.
