Opportunity:
Overhead Transmission Line projects supporting Grid projects. Structural Engineering Technicians contribute to the design, analysis, and detailing of structural components and systems for advanced industrial and commercial facilities.

• Supports engineering teams under general supervision.
• Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling).
• Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
• Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
• Stays current on applicable standards, document control practices, departmental guides, and BV policies and procedures.
• Applies knowledge of the BV Quality Program to ensure accurate, compliant deliverables.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
• Uses and expands applications and tools to evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures.
• Creates and develops project deliverables based on a variety of design inputs.
• Performs basic computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
• Coordinates deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and interferences.
• Supports internal client needs while developing an understanding of external client priorities and drivers.
• Proactively seeks out, shares, and applies knowledge of new technologies and evolving processes.

• Diploma or Certificate preferred.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.

• Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background checks, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).

• Works in a typical office environment; may involve prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
• Physical tasks during site visits may include crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods.
• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.

Hourly compensation range: $27.85 – $48.72.
