Overview
Terracon is looking for a curious mind to join us as an Environmental Senior Project Manager
. You will manage subsurface investigations, soil vapor assessments, and remedial actions on behalf of our diverse client base. You will also develop new client relationships and maintain our existing client base.
Work with a team of professional experts in our Site Investigation/Remediation department and collaborate with colleagues and clients on dynamic projects to ensure work is executed on time and within budget. You will help us identify, manage, win, and execute project opportunities while maintaining client relationships, and actively participating in industry and professional organizations to grow new client relationships and learn about current market trends.
Our offices are conveniently located in Plymouth and St. Paul with a flexible working environment.
- Lead proposal preparation and RFP/RFQ responses, liaising with internal due diligence staff, Terracon National Account Managers, and/or clients.
- Collaborate with other service lines (e.g., geotechnical, facilities, compliance) for cross‑selling opportunities.
- Manage subsurface investigations (Phase II ESAs, Limited Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations) to evaluate soil, groundwater, and soil vapor.
- Manage remediation projects involving soil, groundwater and/or soil vapor response actions.
- Identify, develop, and gather resources to complete projects: develop schedules, estimate budgets, select equipment, staff, and external contractors.
- Lead safety by embracing the IIF (Incident and Injury Free) culture; lead IIF through safety efforts including pre‑task planning, and compliance with approved safety plan.
- Resolve operational problems (e.g., staffing/resources) and minimize delays.
- Coordinate and direct field personnel, office staff, and subcontractors to complete the project.
- Coordinate with accounting for financial management of invoicing and collections.
- Ability to independently analyze and interpret data, technical reports, guidance documents, and governmental regulations pertaining to environmental contamination.
- Strong technical writing skills including reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to present information verbally and respond to questions from managers and clients.
- Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills with a strong work ethic.
- Strong experience with environmental investigation and remediation for commercial/industrial, transportation, and energy clients.
- Strong communication skills.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consulting or environmental engineering.
- OSHA 40‑hour Hazwoper and annual refresher.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in geology, engineering, or environmental science.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- PE, PG or other certification preferred but not required.
- Must pass a satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen prior to employment.
