Salary Range

The full pay range for this role is $84,700 – $141,100 annually, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $105,000 – $115,000 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.

Scope Of Job

The Real Time Operations Engineer serves as the primary technical specialist for renewable asset operations, providing advanced troubleshooting, performance analysis, and technical leadership to ensure optimal system performance. This role combines deep technical expertise from field engineering and performance engineering with operational oversight to drive asset optimization. The Real Time Operations Engineer combines real‑time remote troubleshooting, analysis, and active resolution for Field and OCC teams and will work closely with all Operational Technology teams, Performance and Reliability Engineering teams, and Field Engineering teams to drive positive business outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Advanced Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Serve as the highest‑level technical resource for renewable asset operations in the OCC.
    • Perform advanced analysis of SCADA data systems and alerts, protection relay event files, electrical system disturbances, and equipment performance anomalies.
    • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts for inverter and power conversion systems, collection and distribution networks, plant control and monitoring systems.
    • Interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings for system analysis.
    • Provide technical guidance to OCC operators and field teams during critical events.
    • Lead fleet‑wide troubleshooting and ensure real‑time plant event management and MOD/functional testing.
    • Liaise between the OCC, field operations, PRE and OT to develop, maintain, and implement effective SOPs and operational documents.
    • Manage the creation, maintenance, and updating of necessary OCC documentation for reliable system operations.
    • Support integration of new technology into the OCC, including application systems and Monarch adjustments.
    • Develop, maintain, and enhance processes and procedures for the OCC by responding to all events requiring an OCC evaluation and improvement.
    • Work with maintenance to troubleshoot problems and ascertain probable causes; analyze and act on issues impacting overall profitability of OCC/OT/AO.
    • Engage with service staff to review operational responsibilities and reinforce strong communications between the OCC and field service staff.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting
    • Develop and maintain advanced technical reports on asset performance.
    • Gather operational data for data historians for reporting.
    • Analyze and interpret historical trends to identify emerging technical issues.
