Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and other teams to troubleshoot design challenges and ensure alignment between design intent and production capabilities.
- Develop and document production workflows and installation methods, creating structured manuals and operational guides for internal and field use.
- Lead the creation of detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies for HVAC systems, ensuring performance requirements and manufacturability are achieved.
- Manage engineering documentation, including drawings, revisions, bills of materials, and engineering change processes to maintain configuration control.
- Create and maintain installation, operation, and maintenance documentation that is clear, accurate, and accessible to technicians and end users.
- Oversee the release of full manufacturing packages, including shop drawings, fabrication details, and assembly instructions.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior designers, supporting problem-solving, best practices, and skill development.
- Apply strong mechanical reasoning to contribute to design reviews, feasibility assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform advanced sheet metal design work in Solid Works, promoting consistent modeling standards and efficient practices across the team.
- Participate in shop floor activities and meetings, offering hands‑on support when needed to validate designs or resolve production issues.
- Serve as a technical resource within the team, supporting training efforts and contributing to overall design quality and consistency.
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably within HVAC, sheet metal, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
- Advanced proficiency in Solid Works, including experience modeling complex assemblies.
- Strong 2D CAD experience, with the ability to generate and review detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes and the ability to collaborate with production teams.
- Experience working in cross-functional environments and supporting or mentoring junior-level designers.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and documentation workflows independently.
- Effective time management skills in a fast-paced engineering or production setting.
- Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments, including occasional hands‑on involvement.
- Ability to contribute to or lead design discussions and support production teams in resolving technical challenges.
- Solid Works certification
- ADDA certification
- Familiarity with advanced manufacturing documentation practices
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality, and standards compliance
- Strong collaboration and communication across cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables with minimal supervision
- Effective prioritization and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
