St. Hubert Catholic Community is seeking a faith-filled Director of Music to lead a vibrant liturgical music program serving both parish and school. This role is central to worship, evangelization, and community life—bringing the liturgy to life through prayerful, engaging music.
Position OverviewThe Director of Music implements the pastor’s vision by planning, leading, and overseeing all aspects of sacred music for parish liturgies and programs, while fostering a culture of participation, excellence, and collaboration.
Location: St. Hubert Catholic Community – Chanhassen, MN
Schedule: Full-time (40+ hrs/week), salaried, benefits eligible
Reports to: Pastor
ResponsibilitiesLiturgical Leadership
- Plan and lead music for weekend Masses, Holy Days, funerals, weddings, and special liturgies
- Serve as primary accompanist (piano and/or organ)
- Develop music that supports active congregational participation
Music Ministry Leadership
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise choirs, cantors, and musicians
- Lead rehearsals and build a strong volunteer culture
- Foster spiritual and musical growth within the ministry
Collaboration
- Partner with clergy, staff, and school leaders to support parish and school liturgies
- Serve as a resource on sacred music across ministries
Administration
- Oversee budget, music library, instruments, and scheduling
- Ensure copyright compliance and adherence to parish/Archdiocesan policies
- Practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church
- Bachelor’s degree in Music (Master’s preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Catholic liturgy and sacred music
- Proficiency in piano and organ; experience directing choirs
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Availability for evenings and weekends
