Brown & Brown is seeking a Sr Accounting Specialist to join our growing team in Bloomington, MN!
The Accounting Sr Specialist position leads/supports the execution of transaction processing for the profit center/department. The Sr Specialist will lead a team of transaction processors and ensure the team executes the completion of all transactions such as vendor invoices, entering new vendors, researching inquiries etc. accurately while meeting processing deadlines.
How You Will Contribute:- Lead daily transaction processing activities to ensure timely and accurate completion of all assigned financial transactions, including vendor invoices, new vendor setups, and inquiry resolution.
- Monitor workflow and processing deadlines, adjusting priorities and resources as necessary to maintain service levels for the profit center/department.
- Review and validate transaction accuracy, ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and corporate policies.
- Resolve complex or escalated processing issues, conduct research, troubleshooting discrepancies, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure resolution.
- Maintain and update financial systems and transaction records, ensuring data integrity and proper documentation for audits and reporting.
- Collaborate with vendors, internal departments, and finance partners to support accurate transaction processing and address inquiries.
- Identify process improvement opportunities, recommending enhancements to efficiency, accuracy, and controls within the transaction workflow.
- Prepare routine and ad hoc reports related to transaction volume, accuracy metrics, and operational performance.
- Ensure adherence to compliance requirements, including company policies, government regulations, and accounting standards.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by ensuring transactions are processed within required timelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Certifications:
- CPA or other financial designations
- 3-5 years' of in an Accounting or Finance position.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
$80,000 - $80,000 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
