Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 / year

The Lock Desk Associate ensures accurate pricing for originating and purchasing loans, and provides professional assistance to brokers, sellers, and other counter parties, both internal and external. Responsibilities include assisting with lock inquiries, loading and validating loan data, ensuring accurate pricing of wholesale or correspondent loans for the rate lock, participating in reporting, system maintenance, training, and other tasks as appropriate.

• Monitor the Lock Desk inbox and provide timely responses to broker, seller, sales, and other internal or external parties regarding inquiries and pricing questions.
• Act as an internal and external resource for any pricing issues.
• Assist with testing and maintenance of system pricing and eligibility functions.
• Maintain the Rate Sheet Distribution list.
• Ensure pricing adjustments from Capital Markets are properly implemented and applied within the systems and/or PPE firms for pricing and eligibility.
• Participate in the maintenance of lock desk user manuals for all channels.
• Create and maintain process documentation.
• Aid in providing reports as needed.
• Register bulk trades and maintain bulk loan trade confirmations.
• Ensure broker and seller price negotiations are properly implemented and maintained.
• Complete additional projects and responsibilities as assigned to contribute to the growth and well‑being of the company.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in origination and/or secondary mortgage market with hands‑on loan pricing experience.
• Good understanding of mortgage banking origination practices and secondary market loan sales and securitization.
• General understanding of mortgage origination process, secondary market, whole‑loan sales and securitization, and mortgage servicing.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and discrepancies.
• Ability to independently complete multiple time‑sensitive tasks with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.

• Mortgage Pricing & Secondary Market Knowledge:
  Demonstrates strong understanding of loan pricing, lock desk functions, secondary market transactions, and securitization processes.
