Overview
Position Purpose
The Occupational Therapist at The Geneva Suites provides clinical, therapeutic, and consultative services to support residents’ strength, balance, mobility, and engagement in daily life activities. The OT also trains and supports care staff in safe resident handling, fall prevention, and person-centered engagement strategies. This position upholds The Geneva Suites’ mission of Enhancing Lives by supporting residents to live safely, independently, and meaningfully within our residential assisted living homes.
- Resident Assessment and Care Planning:
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of residents’ physical and functional status. - Develop and document individualized therapy goals and treatment plans.
- Modify resident care approaches as needed, based on clinical presentation and staff input.
- Therapy Implementation and Documentation:
Provide therapeutic exercises and functional mobility sessions that promote strength, balance, and safety. - Monitor resident progress and outcomes; maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in RTasks.
- Recommend and document the use of assistive devices and environmental modifications.
- Staff Training and
Collaboration:
Train care partners on safe transfer techniques, positioning, fall prevention strategies, and resident-specific mobility plans. - Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff on resident engagement and activity modification.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences as needed.
- Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with state regulations (MN 144G), HIPAA, and occupational therapy practice standards. - Contribute to safety planning, incident reviews, and postfall assessments.
- Maintain therapy equipment and supplies in accordance with health and safety protocols.

- Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Minnesota
- Ability to travel between Geneva Suites locations
- CPR certification Preferred
- TB test and background study clearance
- Proficiency in electronic documentation (RTasks preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (Occasionally means 1-2 hours of an 8 hour workday, frequently means 2.5 to 5.5 hours of an 8 hour workday and continually means 6 to 8 hours of an 8 hour workday)

Infectious wastes continually; toxic chemicals occasionally; needles/body fluids continually; radiation never; chemo therapeutics never; mechanical hazards- driving frequently.
