Ophthalmic Assistant - Retina

Minnesota Retina Associates is a Twin Cities based partner practice of Northwest Eye Clinic and Minnesota Eye Consultants. We are passionate about patient care and dedicated to improving quality of life through life-changing vision procedures and treatments.

Minnesota Retina Associates is currently hiring for a part-time (0.6 FTE) Ophthalmic Assistant in our Bloomington and Golden Valley locations. This will be three days per week. The position offers advancement opportunities and on-the-job training, with growth encouraged.

Starting pay is $24.00-$28.00/hour.

• Perform and document subjective and objective ophthalmic testing efficiently to provide basic information necessary for ophthalmic examinations (including history, visual acuities, lensometry manual and auto, refractometry, keratometry manual and automated, visual fields, tonometry, assisting with office procedures, and performing contact lens fitting and removal).
• Educate patients regarding diagnostic testing and their clinic visit.
• Open and close exam rooms, ensure all equipment is clean and ready for the doctor, and stock all necessary supplies.
• Inform patients of the purpose of all tests performed and how they may be affected during testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Optometry or ophthalmology experience preferred (retina experience a plus but not required).
• JCAHPO certification preferred.
• Contact lens experience preferred.

• COA, COT or COMT preferred but not required.
