Position SummaryThe Director of TRIA Orthopedic Urgent Care & Sports Medicine Services provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for orthopedic urgent care and sports medicine services across Health Partners organization. This role oversees day-to-day operations, clinical quality, provider performance, financial management, and program development, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered musculoskeletal care. The Director works closely with physician leader dyads, physicians, advanced practice providers, athletic trainers, sports performance coaches, therapists, athletic partners, and administrative leadership to expand access, improve outcomes, and grow services.
Departments include, but are not limited to:
- TRIA Orthopedic Urgent Care (multiple locations) - open 7 days a week
- TRIA Sports Medicine Services (multiple locations)
- Orthopedic Urgent Care for Athletic Injuries
- Concussion Management Programs
- Injury Prevention and Outreach Programs
- Athletic Event and Sideline Coverage
- Sports Performance - TRIA Game Face
- Lead day-to-day operations of orthopedic urgent care and sports medicine clinics
- Develop and optimize workflows, scheduling, staffing models, and patient throughput
- Oversee clinic performance metrics, including volume, access, productivity, and patient satisfaction
- Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and support financial performance
- Drive strategic planning and growth initiatives for orthopedic urgent care and sports medicine services
- Identify opportunities to expand access, improve service offerings, and enhance operational efficiency
- Support service line development in collaboration with executive and physician leadership
- Support outreach initiatives with schools, athletic organizations, employers, and community partners
- Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to grow referrals and brand presence
- Partner with physician leaders to align operational goals with clinical excellence
- Recruit, onboard, and manage non-physician staff, including clinic managers and support teams
- Foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture across multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
- Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
- Monitor and enhance patient experience across all points of care
- Prepare and present operational and performance reports to executive leadership
- Use data and analytics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement
Weekday schedule with oversight on weekend operations.
Required Qualifications- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience in healthcare operations
- Experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory clinical settings
- Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, staffing, budgeting, and performance metrics
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
- Not applicable
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience leading multisite clinics or service lines
- Demonstrated success in program growth or service line development
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Master's degree (MHA, MBA, MPH, or related)
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
- Athletic Trainer (ATC), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in reimbursement limitations, prior authorization processes, and contract interpretation to ensure compliant and efficient program operations.
- In-depth knowledge of orthopedic care services and referral resources available locally, regionally, and nationally.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and sustain a strong, collaborative team culture that promotes accountability, engagement, and high performance.
