Job Overview
We are looking for a Resident Assistant/Home Health Aide to provide personal care and health‑related services that improve and/or maintain the physical and emotional well‑being of senior residents at Meadow Woods Assisted Living in Bloomington, MN. No CNA certification is required unless the applicant is under 18 years old. The role includes training to pass medications.
Part‑time caregiver support schedule includes 10 hours per two weeks, evening shift, and every other weekend.
Meadow Woods is part of the Martin Luther Campus Senior Community. The facility is a residential setting located in East Bloomington, MN, near public transportation, and is surrounded by woodlands, wetlands, the Mall of America, and the Minnesota River Bluffs. Our 113‑unit community offers assisted living, independent living, and memory care. Staff encourages participation in regularly scheduled activities and lifelong learning programs.
Responsibilities- Assist residents with personal care services, including bathing/showering, foot and fingernail care, shaving, dressing, hearing aids and glasses use, hair care, feeding, and toileting.
- Conduct 1–2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift.
- Provide health‑related services under the direction of the Registered Nurse, such as assisting with treatments, monitoring blood glucose, administering medication (including insulin injections), and recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Perform specified home services: laundry per schedule, follow cleaning schedule, deliver meal trays, assist with meal service in the dining room.
- Assist with preparing for and facilitating resident social and recreational activities.
- Observe residents and report status to appropriate staff, noting changes in physical or emotional condition, such as mood, appetite, or weight.
- Serve as a mandated reporter and report any concerns about potential mistreatment.
- Provide pertinent observations and input.
- Respond appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
- Less than 1 year of related experience.
- Ability to use technology, including computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
- Under 18 applicants must be on the MN NA registry, and the site must manage restrictions preventing participation in medication administration or mechanical lift operation independently.
- 1‑3 years of related experience.
