Shake up your day-to-day by joining our team as a Mental Health Practitioner Float! Are you a practitioner who likes variety? Are you comfortable moving from program to program? The Float Practitioner will work in various programs and provide support, rehabilitation, and treatment to individuals served.

The IRTS Mental Health Practitioner Float provides professional, quality program services to the clients served by Community Foundations IRTS, Carlson Drake House IRTS, ReEntry House IRTS and ReEntry Crisis. The person in this position works with other members of the team to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining an optimum quality of life consistent with client needs and preferences. The work uses evidence-based practices adapted for the agency and the client's specific needs.

The emphasis is placed on working with clients in community-based intensive treatment settings and directly providing the services necessary to assist clients in achieving their goals.

Pay Rate

$27.48 for evening shifts and $28.99 for overnight shifts

Schedule

32 hours per week

  • Evenings: 4 pm - 12 am
  • Overnights: 12 am - 8 am
  • Majority of scheduled hours will be Friday-Monday

Schedule will be determined on a monthly basis.

This role operates fully onsite at our IRTS facilities.

Community Foundations IRTS is located in Maplewood, MN.

Carlson Drake House IRTS is located in Bloomington, MN.

Re-Entry House IRTS is located in Minneapolis, MN.

Re-Entry House Crisis is located in Minneapolis, MN,

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide direct services to the residents
  • Responsible for providing staff coverage and ensuring the security of the facility and general supervision of the residents
  • Complete all paperwork, reports, and charting contemporaneously and in an organized manner
  • Co-facilitate or facilitate psycho educational groups
  • Upon successful completion of required medication test, administer medications under the supervision of the facility's nurse
  • Conduct house meetings for residents in collaboration with Peer Recovery Specialist
  • Assist the therapists in developing treatment plans
  • Work effectively and professionally with other treatment team members
  • Attend all team meetings as scheduled
  • Assist in the orientation of new admissions to residential care
  • Teach and develop independent living skills (relaxation, conversation skills, housekeeping, budgeting, etc.)
  • Identify individuals prone to having behavior emergencies and assist the therapist in developing additional programming appropriate for their needs
  • Help to defuse and de-escalate any potential behavior emergencies and assists in developing additional programming appropriate for the client's needs
  • Assist with discharge planning
  • Maintain a pattern of regular work hours
  • Maintains familiarity and compliance with applicable Minnesota Statues or rules, including, but not limited to DHS variance that regulates IRTS and Residential Crisis facilities, MDH SLF (Class

    A), MS 253B, Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults, Duty to Warn, Minnesota Data Practices Act
  • Participate actively in on-going professional growth and development; maintain appropriate professional behavior and participates in appropriate supervision
  • Must be able to transport clients in the community
  • Administer BACs and UDs as scheduled or according to the client's treatment plan
  • Utilize crisis assessment tools for suicidal or aggressive behaviors and consult with on-call supervisor or therapist and other emergency resources as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field.
  • 2,000 hours supervised experience working with individuals with Mental Illness and substance abuse treatment

  • Education and/or experience provided supported employment and education services.
