Job Summary- Clean guest rooms in accordance with established quality and performance standards to allow a sufficient quantity of vacant and clean guest rooms for sale.
- Clean vacant and occupied guest rooms, as assigned by manager.
- Ensure all guest room and housekeeping areas are clean and maintained according to the standards set by the hotel and brand standards.
- Clean and reset guest bedroom and bathroom areas according to established standards.
- Organize and maintain appropriately-stocked cleaning carts for assigned floors or as assigned by manager.
- Organize and maintain appropriately-stocked linen closets for assigned floors or as assigned by manager.
- Notify Housekeeping Supervisor of any Housekeeping supply needs to ensure adequate supplies are available on each cart and closet.
- Perform general cleaning duties in guest rooms (i.e., desk, bed, bathroom sinks, tubs, beds) and dusting of guest room areas.
- Complete accurately, and in a timely manner, any assigned paperwork.
- Floormap or blueprint reading to understand all areas of the hotel, including meeting spaces, guest rooms and employee areas.
- Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
- Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.
- Assist other housekeeping employees in maintaining clean and organized work and public areas.
- Ensure rooms and work area is clean when finished.
- Must be able to work well with all other members of the Hotel staff.
- Must promote a cordial and caring attitude toward all other department heads.
- Highly motivated self starter.
- Ability to communicate with hotel guests.
- Safely and efficiently operate equipment in accordance with safety requirements and standards.
- Maintain, at all times, a neat and clean professional appearance.
- Responsible for being knowledgeable about the hotel.
- Must perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
- Must be able to exert a faced-paced ability to reach different areas and floors of the hotel on a timely basis.
- Must be able to work in narrow or limited spaces.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and relevant maintenance tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must have the ability to bend and squat.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Must report to work on time
- Must be present and able to work all shifts on-site
- Must be able to work the necessary hours and schedule to meet the operational needs of the business
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be currently eligible to work in the United States of America and able to present required work authorization documents as required to complete the Form I-9 on the first day of employment.
