, is seeking a strategic and influential Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to join their executive leadership team. This is a high impact role responsible for defining and driving the people strategy across a dynamic, project driven architecture, engineering, and construction industry (AEC) environment while fostering a culture of safety, inclusion, and high performance.

THE ROLE:

BE THE ARCHITECT OF OUR PEOPLE STRATEGY

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Human Resources Officer will provide strategic leadership across HR, office services, workforce planning, talent acquisition, organizational development, compensation, benefits, compliance, safety, and culture. This role will partner closely with senior leadership to align people initiatives with business goals and support continued growth within a multi‑location, employee‑owned organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute HR strategies supporting TKDA’s goals.
  • Lead and mentor the HR team across talent, engagement, retention, compensation, benefits, safety, learning and development, and culture.

Talent Acquisition, Development & Workforce Planning

  • Direct full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and employee development;
    Lead internship and campus programs.
  • Oversee HR components of mergers and acquisitions, including organizational assessment, HR due diligence, workforce mapping, culture evaluation, and post‑acquisition integration.
  • Drive succession planning and talent assessments.

Safety & Occupational Health

  • Promote a safety-first culture with leadership and safety team.
  • Oversee accommodations, compliance, incident response, and reporting.
  • Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Lead salary strategy, incentive programs, merit planning, and market benchmarking.
  • Manage retirement plans, leave programs, and employee wellness resources.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Advise and support leaders in resolving employee relations matters.
  • Support organizational design, change management, and leadership development.
  • Monitor employee sentiment and engagement across a multi-location workforce.

Regulatory Compliance & HR Operations

  • Oversee all HR policies, procedures, and compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Manage employee handbook updates, reporting, and regulatory documentation.
  • Assess and enhance HRIS, ERP, and integrated learning/talent management systems.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership across employee relations, safety and occupational health, talent management, compensation and benefits, performance management, recruiting, and training
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams while fostering collaboration and innovation
  • Strong knowledge of compensation, organizational development, employee relations, employment law, and employee development
  • Demonstrated success advising senior leadership using business insights, financial data, and trends
  • Full-cycle talent acquisition experience from recruitment through onboarding
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with sound decision making, even in complex or ambiguous situations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting and partnering across multiple locations
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
