This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Enterprise Services, Office of Human Resources Management, Talent Management Directorate, CBP Hiring Center located in Bloomington, MN. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Duties

As the Supervisory Human Resources Specialist, you will lead a CBP's Classification Operations Team, overseeing classification, position management, and position data integrity while advising agency managers and employees, directing programs, ensuring accurate HR data and policy consistency, managing workload and performance metrics. This position starts at a salary of $ (GS-13, Step
1) to $ (GS-13, Step 10). In this position, the supervisor oversees subordinate staff by assigning work, setting priorities, evaluating performance, resolving routine issues, recommending personnel actions, and driving improvements in operational efficiency, quality, and customer service. Typical work duties include:
Directing, planning, and administering the Classification Operations program, ensuring classification and position management services are delivered consistently, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable federal guidance. Maintaining a high degree of position data accuracy by overseeing position records, Individual Position Numbers, personnel action reviews, quality control processes, and workload metrics. Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external customers, including executives, managers, supervisors, employees, and HR partners, to ensure classification services meet program needs and customer expectations.

Planning, prioritizing, and assigning work to subordinate staff based on organizational goals, workload demands, local benchmarks, assignment complexity, and employee capabilities. GS Salary:

Requirements

Qualifications

Experience:

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Leading a team in providing human resources classification services to management and field customers.
