You’ll work side-by-side with a Senior Engineer
, supporting assigned customers and acting as an extension of their internal IT team. If you like working with people, learning from experienced engineers, and growing your career the right way—this role is for you.
This is an onsite, in-person role. You’ll regularly be at customer locations across the Twin Cities metro area. Our office is located across from the Mall of America.
Why This Role Is Different
- You’ll support customers who are directly assigned to a Senior Engineer
, not a random ticket queue - Our Senior Engineers serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for customers—you’ll be part of that relationship, not siloed
- All clients are on fixed-cost agreements — no billable pressure, no time tracking obsession
- Success is measured by customer satisfaction and quality of service
, not ticket volume - You’ll be mentored by Senior Engineers with a clear path to grow into a Senior role yourself
- Provide hands-on Windows desktop support for end users
- Work directly with a Senior Engineer to deliver timely IT services and support
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues (onsite and remote)
- Assist with workstation deployments, upgrades, onboarding/offboarding, and device setup
- Interact face-to-face with customers and end users in a professional, friendly manner
- Clearly document work, resolutions, and next steps in our ticketing system
- Escalate complex issues appropriately while learning from experienced engineers
- Represent Tech River professionally at customer sites
Required:
- Windows desktop support experience
- Outstanding customer service skills — communication matters here
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid documentation habits and attention to detail
- Comfort working independently at customer sites
- Professional, reliable, and eager to learn
Nice to Have:
- Previous MSP experience (a plus, not required)
- Exposure to Microsoft 365, Active Directory, endpoint management, or basic networking
- Desire to grow into a Senior Engineer role over time
- Direct mentorship from experienced Senior Engineers
- Real client relationships and hands-on learning
- No billable time pressure
- Career growth in a company that values people over process
