Senior System Engineer

Charter Solutions is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support, maintain, and modernize the organization's enterprise infrastructure. This role is responsible for administering Windows-based systems, Microsoft System Center technologies, and the Microsoft 365 platform while ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical infrastructure services. The Senior Systems Engineer will partner with internal IT teams on infrastructure and cloud initiatives, provide technical leadership during application upgrades, and support incident and request management using ITIL best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Upgrade, maintain, and optimize enterprise infrastructure systems, including Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft System Center technologies.
• Administer and support enterprise Windows environments, ensuring system reliability, security, and high availability.
• Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows infrastructure, networking components, and Microsoft 365 services.
• Serve as the infrastructure technical lead for application implementations, cloud migrations, and upgrade projects.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, and application teams to plan and execute technology initiatives.
• Respond to and resolve ITIL-based incidents, service requests, and problem management activities while meeting established service levels.
• Perform system monitoring, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and routine maintenance.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system standards.
• Recommend and implement infrastructure improvements, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity efforts.
• Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior IT staff as needed.
• Participate in on-call support for critical enterprise infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating and maintaining Microsoft Windows in a large enterprise environment.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft System Center products.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience administering and supporting the Microsoft 365 platform.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server.
• Experience working within an ITIL-based service management environment.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and system administration.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
