POSITION SUMMARY: The position manages the gymnastics programs, co-manages camps and clinics, manages all facility rentals, supervises building supervisors, and assists with facility scheduling.
PRIMARY
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Recruit, select, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate staff.
- Create and supervise the database system for class management, registration, facility rental contracts, invoice and payment processing, rules and guidelines.
- Manage outside group rental opportunities for gym space, fields, stadiums, auditoriums, and other district facilities.
- Oversee and conduct site tours for potential rental groups and facility users.
- Work closely with buildings to help facilitate the rental process and alleviate conflicts. Assign rental site supervisors when needed.
- Monitor and process all transactions and manage payroll for gymnastics, camps and clinics, rental site supervisors, and assist with verifying custodial rental overtime.
- Consult with multiple large user groups to help coordinate events district wide.
- Coordinate the gymnastics program at the high schools.
- Co-coordinate the athletics/activities portion of the summer camp and clinic program.
- Create and maintain individual community activity center use rental opportunities including birthday party program.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of related program budgets.
- Assign and track key distribution for the department.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels and resolve conflicts.
- Meet with custodians, activity directors and principals to review issues and foster relationships within the schools.
- Supervise tournaments, weeknight and weekend events as needed.
- Develop and create printed promotional materials and web-based information for the community regarding gymnastics, camps and clinics, and facility rentals.
- Prepare comprehensive reports to evaluate programs.
- Assist Facility Scheduler with rental requests and permit assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
Required:
- BA or BS degree in community education, recreation, education or a closely-related field.
- Organizational, written, oral and communication skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle to visit programs at multiple buildings throughout the district.
- Ability to perform computer functions, including the use of email and Microsoft Word.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends if needed.
- Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
- Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
- Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
Experience working in community education or recreation with planning and organization of large events.
