Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders, modification procedures, and weld procedures.
• Perform fit-ups, structural welds, pressure containing welds, and overlay welds as required by the work order.
• Work according to weld procedures including GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW, SMAW, using a variety of materials.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

• Welder qualification test required as part of application process.
• Familiar with ASME code requirements a plus.
• Able to produce "x-ray quality" welds.
• Able to read and interpret Prints, WPS, Specifications, Work Instructions.
• Fabrication & Mechanical skills a plus.
• Ability to stand, crouch, bend for 8-10 hour shifts.
• Must be able lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Strong attention to detail.

Education and Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Minimum 5+ years of welding/fabrication experience.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must have reliable transportation; will be traveling from Main shop to our La Porte location.

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience with GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW, SMAW.
