Location: 830 County Road 75, Clearwater, MN 55320, USA

Shift: 1st Shift – 1:45am to 9:45pm, Monday‑Friday ($20.90 – $26.40/Hour) with second shift differential

Functions
  • Perform production operations, monitor machine performance, complete minor quality control checks, and identify all quality issues and quality codes.
  • Provide training to new packers and assist with paperwork as needed.
  • Operate and keep up with faster lines in speed and complexity; capable of starting up each inline machine, operating lines with minimal assistance or issue, and well‑versed in a minimum of 50% of the production lines.
  • Maintain all necessary paperwork without assistance or error for inventory, quality control, record keeping, roll stock and sheet tickets, etc.
  • Understand the Bill of Materials (BOM) and verify materials at the line against it.
  • Ensure correct signage is used to identify all scrap material; remove, fill out, and attach tags to scrap roll and take rejected rolls to appropriate areas; confirm correct material is used on the line and scrap is sent to the correct grinder.
  • Authorized for Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and perform LOTO according to safety guidelines and instructions for each piece of equipment.
  • Perform basic machine setup activities; complete roll changes by placing rolls on machines and starting rolls into formers and other machines.
  • Use troubleshooting skills to diagnose basic forming, trimming, and punching problems on the machines; adjust heats and recognize different forming conditions such as webbing, cold roll, etc.
  • Assist in other mechanical maintenance as needed and make basic adjustments to temperature and/or speed to correct issues with assistance/support.
  • Eliminate downtime and keep machines running efficiently.
  • Promote good housekeeping practices by keeping work areas and common areas clean.
  • Identify and report unsafe work conditions, behaviors, or incidents.
  • Follow and adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the lead, supervisor, or manager.

Education, Experience & Skills
  • High School diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous manufacturing experience or familiarity with manufacturing equipment required.
  • Preferred: trade school in plastics fabrication, light setup or maintenance experience, and basic knowledge of production scheduling and inventory control.
  • In‑depth knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices, standard operating procedures, and product specifications.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak basic English for work instructions, labels, quality sheets, and communications.
  • Basic computer skills:
    Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to work with different applications on different formats.
  • Basic math skills: counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for job calculations.
  • Ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, indicators, scales, etc.) to read and interpret measurements.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in a professional, positive, and constructive manner.
  • Detail oriented; strong teamwork and independent work skills; successful completion of training.
  • Good common sense and critical thinking ability; able to reason through tasks and solve production issues.
