We are currently hiring for a Machine Set‑Up Technician, 3rd shift (10:00pm–6:30am). In this role, you’ll set up and operate grinding machines used to manufacture twist drill bits, ensuring each product meets exact specifications. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, precision machining, and being part of a company that invests in its employees.
What You’ll Do- Reading blueprints and job cards for dimensions, tolerances, and production requirements
- Setting up grinding machines, tooling, and components
- Adjusting machine controls for speed, feed rate, and wheel angles
- Inspecting finished parts to ensure quality and accuracy
- Troubleshooting equipment to keep production running efficiently
- Performing routine machine maintenance
- Completing required production and inventory documentation
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Assisting with machine operations as needed
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, manuals, and procedures
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measurement)
- Knowledge of machines, tools, and mechanical processes
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and identify mechanical issues
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work full‑time (40 hours/week) and meet attendance requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands to handle drill bits and tools
- Visual acuity includes close vision, depth perception, and color vision
- Must successfully complete a post‑offer physical assessment
- Must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen
